One of the earliest paintings I made When I was just starting out with watercolors and Inktense. Painted this while watching the movie on repeat. As I did with all of my movie scenes.
This is one of my favorite scenes from jaws. Granted, in the movie its during the morning and nowhere near sunset. I wanted to try a night time scene to see how it worked out, and I'm pleased.. Hopefully you are as well.
A few different sizes available. I originally made this one on a 11x14. I tried to keep the print sizes as close to the original dimensions as possible as to not skew the piece. Any larger than that is loses resolution. There are a few smaller sizes available, as well as different print medias.
As with all watercolors, they look best when re-printed on watercolor paper. For smaller prints, textured card stock looks amazing. All prints are done with a matte finish regardless of printing media used. This is our personal choice, as watercolors lose their essence when done with a gloss finish.
PRINT MEDIA
Textured ~ I am now doing all smaller (up to 13x19) prints myself. For textured watercolors I use Red River Paper Companies canvas textured paper. This is hands down my favorite paper to use due to its look and texture. This is a cold pressed cotton paper that has a physical texture and feel of canvas. The look and feel of this paper are amazing, and the quality is just as good. I tested over a dozen different textured paper types before deciding this was my go to for high quality prints.
Canvas Mount ~ Mounted canvases are done by sending my artwork to a professional printing company. I have recently switched to a newer company due to the options available and print quality I receive. All of my canvas prints will be done on 1.25" wooden framed stretcher bars. The wooden frames are very wide to prevent warping, and the print quality is top notch.
