These are not painted shapes. It is dried and formed paint.

My process is actually really simple. I use high viscosity thick paint and make a flat circle on a non-stick surface.  I then use a cake frosting technique to pipe a cross hatch layer of thin paint to create the  waffle cone effect.  When it is partially dry I peel up the acrylic circles and roll them into a cone shape.  I "flue" the ends together with more acrylic paint, and then fill the cone with more acrylic paint so that when it hardens, there is a structurally sound ice cream cone.
